A new home with new and old beginnings.
Recently, my life has been on transitional mode. I am a firm believer of when an opportunity arises, grab it no matter how uncertain it might be. Plenty say that stepping blindly into the unforeseeable future is quite idiotic. Well, I believe them but I also believe in myself. A big change is both bad and good – it really depends how you handle the situation.
Here’s a quick catch-up on my life, I recently moved to New York last February 2016 and looking back, I did go through the “drop everything and leave” moment. I had less than a month to pack my life in the Philippines into 2.5 luggages and bid farewell to everything that I still call home (a.k.a my partner and our 4 dogs). Sparing you from the sappy story, you can read more about myself here.
It has just been more than a month and I feel like I’ve been in New York for so long. Granted it’s a new environment, it’s feeling more and more like a place I could get used to. Though not up to par with my Philippines, it’s getting there. In lieu of new beginnings, what better way to do it by getting back to old ways via blogging – in a new home (hello wordpress!).
Why blog again you ask? Because I used to love writing. I’m back to blogging not because I’m partially bored but because I want my platform to have a purpose and not just be an outlet where I post outfits on. I won’t lie, it is a little lonely knowing that I have zero Filipino friends here who are interested in the same things as I am but that’s why I wanted to blog again. People know Filipinos as complete hard workers almost so that their lives in the USA are all work and no fun. That’s where this blog comes along which aims to highlight Filipino cool, culture, food, and style here in the bustling, fast-paced, and busy streets of New York. There’s plenty to be proud about by being a Filipino especially when you’re overseas because from where I stand right now, I definitely don’t mind eating a dish full of Aling Mila’s pork sisig.
So, here’s to new beginnings and coming back to old pursuits. I hope you guys stick around for it.
