Alithea Castillo is a brand and social media strategist. Born & raised in the Philippines, she graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology and continued to pursue a career in Human Resources for 3 years up until she decided to move to New York in 2016.
Literally packing her life in 2 suitcases and starting anew, she came to NYC with the intention of being more in-tune with digital media & fashion — even without the means, connections, or the background experience. Fast forward to 2 years later and a few bumps along the way, she’s had a lot under her belt including being at IMG where she has worked on the digital side of fashion. She manages and handles the official NYFW: The Shows website, NYFW: The Shows app, and supported the NYFW: The Shows & Fashion Week social media platforms for the past 5 seasons and counting. She’s also the only Filipina who was part of the 65th Miss Universe (US) production crew which historically came back to the Philippines after 22 years, where she lent her knowledge on the Philippine Islands and its people as she became the liaison for all things to know about her home country.
Aside from her work at IMG, she is also a brand strategist for dapperQ, a queer style digital publication born in NYC where it is celebrated as the only platform that lends its voice to the community by being the only publication who has an all-queer fashion show during New York Fashion Week. She is also the global social media manager for Obviously, a social influencer & PR marketing firm, where she handles all of their NYC, SF, LA, Paris, and Australia offices. She has also dabbled on being a stylist, producer, and has done multiple creative projects with her partner, Kim Geronimo. She was most recently part of the H&M Studio 2018 social campaign, H&M Fall 2018 social campaign, and Abercrombie Festival social campaign /s.
… and she also identifies as a proud femme lesbian (she/her pronouns) who loves dogs more than anything.
